How come I am not squashed like a pancake.
Always been a conundrum as to how we can have about 1000kg of force above our head pushing down and we dont feel it.
Atmospheric pressure is approx 10,000kg per sq meter at the surface and let's assume the avg human body cross sect area looking down is about 1/10th of a sq mt. So about 1000 kgs of force pushing down.
Like why dont weight scales read the mass of the earth above it?
Why am I not flat like a pancake?
