Yup, buying support is absolutely insufficient, the big boys playing AJX at the moment probably have a huge 'warchest' of stock bought at much lower levels and reserved for exactly this type of play. They're using what they know will be a hiatus without news to relentless pound the price down to dislodge weak hands, trigger stops, what ever you want to call it, and relatively speaking it's not taking all that much volume...
Who knows where it will stop? A good buying opportunity somewhere near here though.
