This is typical of bot trading, which gets overwhelmed when there are non bot trades as was the case early. Look at what happened to the volume weighted price.
A favourite bot strategy is to be on both sides and close any gap. If the bids are modest they sell to them step the price down and move the offer down. This all happens within milliseconds of anything changing.
Todays fall from $2.20 is largely due to this strategy. Mainly small or tiny trades with the odd real one.
